Reelwise is an individually-developed video clipping tool. This page explains what data Reelwise processes and why.
1. What we collect
- Video you upload, or a video-file URL you provide for import.
- Account info: your email address, via Google sign-in.
- Derived data: transcripts, AI-generated clip suggestions/scores, and rendered output videos produced from your uploaded video.
- Platform connections (optional): if you choose to connect Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok to publish directly from Reelwise, we store the OAuth access/refresh token issued to us by that platform, plus your account ID/name on that platform. We request only the scopes needed to publish content and, where required, read basic profile info — never your password.
2. How it's used, and who else sees it
Your video and transcript are sent to the following processors solely to provide Reelwise's functionality:
- OpenAI (Whisper API) — audio transcription.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — analyzing the transcript to suggest clips, scores, titles, and hashtags.
- Shotstack — rendering the final video (captions, cropping, music, effects).
- Supabase — database and file storage for your account.
- Instagram / YouTube / TikTok — only when you connect an account and only for the specific publish action you confirm.
- Polar.sh — if you subscribe to the Pro plan, Polar is the merchant of record for that payment: it collects and processes your billing/payment details directly (we never see or store your card number). We only receive your subscription status and a Polar-issued customer/subscription ID, used to grant Pro-plan access. See Polar's own privacy policy for how it handles payment data.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed above, which exist solely to run the pipeline you're using. We never use your uploaded videos to train AI models — ours or anyone else's; they're processed only to produce the transcript, clip suggestions, and rendered output you asked for.
3. Retention and deletion
You can delete a project (original video, transcript, clips, and rendered outputs) at any time from within Reelwise; this permanently removes the associated files from storage. You can revoke a connected platform's access at any time from that platform's own account settings, which invalidates the token we hold.
4. Security
Data is stored using Supabase's managed infrastructure with per-user access controls (row-level security). OAuth tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
